The Founders

Brett Matson – CEO & Co-Founder

With a career in search technology, Brett played a pivotal role in the development and global success of the Funnelback search engine, initially conceived at CSIRO. Under his leadership, Funnelback grew from a small startup into a global enterprise, recognised as a ‘Visionary’ by Gartner in 2018.
Brett's expertise spans enterprise search solutions, recommender systems, and data analytics. His innovative approach is backed by a patent for a "Search results sub-topic identification system" and scholarly contributions to secure search systems. He also holds an accreditation in machine learning from Stanford University.

Archie Hooper – Co-Founder

Archie brings strong business acumen, energy, and a wealth of experience from across the tech sector. His strategic insight and leadership complement the technical vision of Airgentic, driving the company’s growth and market success.
