We are pleased to share that the City of Whyalla has launched Airgentic on its website, giving residents a smarter, faster and more natural way to access council support online.

For a proudly multicultural community like Whyalla, accessibility and inclusion are essential parts of modern service delivery. Airgentic helps support this by giving residents more flexible ways to find the information they need.

With multilingual support and voice capability, residents can type, speak and ask questions in their preferred language. They can receive clear, helpful support without needing to search through multiple pages of website content.

Airgentic is more than a chatbot. It is an agentic conversational AI platform that allows councils to build and manage multiple AI agents within one governed environment.

This means the City of Whyalla can create dedicated agents for different service areas, community needs, departments or use cases, while maintaining strong oversight and control from a single platform.

For residents, this creates easier access to information, faster answers and a more inclusive digital customer experience.

For councils, it means broader service coverage, stronger governance, multilingual support, voice-based engagement and the ability to scale AI across the organisation without starting from scratch each time.

It is encouraging to see another South Australian council setting a new standard for accessible and inclusive customer service in local government.

We would like to thank Justin Commons and Sean Kelly from the City of Whyalla for their trust, support and leadership throughout the project.

We would also like to acknowledge John Mundy and Simon McMahon from the Local Government Association of South Australia for their continued support in helping councils embrace modern service delivery and create better customer experiences for their communities.

This is what the next generation of digital customer service looks like: not one bot, but a platform of intelligent agents working together to support communities more effectively.

For local government organisations exploring how agentic conversational AI could support their communities, Airgentic provides a scalable and governed platform for building more accessible digital services.
