Imagine a prospective student who finds exactly what they want to study at your university.

Then the practical questions start:

  • Can I keep my job while I study?
  • How many days would I need to be on campus?
  • Could I afford to move?
  • What happens if I don't get the ATAR?
  • Would I actually fit in?

The answers are there, but scattered

The answers might all be on your website. But they're spread across course pages, scholarships, accommodation, admissions, student support and a few PDFs.

You've given them the information, yet they still have to piece together whether university could work for them. That's a lot to ask of someone making a major life decision.

Bringing practical support forward

The emerging future student playbook puts practical support much earlier in the recruitment journey. Affordability, flexibility, alternative pathways and access to an adviser all help someone work out whether they can take the next step.

One conversation, in their own words

This is one of the opportunities we're working on at Airgentic.

A prospective student should be able to explain their situation in their own words, explore relevant courses and pathways, and bring the practical pieces together in one conversation. For example:

  • A regional school leaver might need help exploring accommodation and scholarships.
  • A parent returning to study might need to understand part-time options, placements and recognition of prior learning.

And when they need an adviser, that conversation should carry through, so they don't have to start again.

From finding a course to becoming a student

Finding a suitable course is one part of the decision. Feeling able to take it on matters too.

So it's worth asking: does your website help someone find a course, or help them work out how to become a student?
